Our lash lift powder (like Powder Lift system) does work by softening and opening the lash cuticle layer.

Here’s why:

The active ingredients (such as Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer with added alkalising agents) create the right pH shift.

This pH shift temporarily lifts and opens the cuticle of the lash hair, allowing the cysteamine or thioglycolate step to penetrate into the cortex of the lash.

Once inside, the reducing agent breaks some of the disulfide bonds, which is what lets you reshape the lash into its lifted curl.

Important:

If the cuticle wasn’t opened, the active step wouldn’t be able to reach the bonds in the cortex, meaning the lift wouldn’t “take.”

Step 2 (neutraliser/fixation) then closes and reseals the cuticle, locking the new shape in.

In simple terms:

Think of your lashes like tiny pieces of rope with a protective outer layer. The first step of a lash lift gently opens that outer layer (the cuticle), so the solution can get inside and soften the bonds that decide your lash shape. Once your lashes are soft, we can mould them into the lifted curl. The next step then closes that outer layer back down, sealing and locking the new curl in place.

It’s like:

Step 1 = opens the door

Step 2 = reshapes the furniture inside

Step 3 = closes the door and keeps everything protected
