🚩 Bad Lash Glue Marketing Tactics (That We’re So Over)
Let’s cut through the noise. The lash industry is full of bold claims that sound great but mean... not much. Here’s the real tea on what some brands are telling you — and why it doesn’t hold up.
❌ “Latex-Free”
Okay, cool... but literally all lash glues have been latex-free for years now. Latex was phased out a long time ago and replaced with PMMA — a much safer alternative.
👉 Fun fact: Our glue doesn’t even use PMMA — we’ve taken it a step further.
❌ “Formaldehyde-Free”
Another one that gets thrown around to scare people. Here’s the truth:
No lash glue contains formaldehyde.
It’s not added in during production — it forms in trace amounts as a by-product when the glue cures, and even then, it's barely detectable.
🧬 PS: Your own body makes small amounts of formaldehyde when you breathe. It's not the scary monster some brands want you to think it is.
❌ “Oil-Resistant” & “Water-Resistant”
All cyanoacrylate-based lash glues are oil and water resistant — that’s literally how they work.
So if a brand is bragging about it like it’s something special… 🧐 they’re just banking on you not knowing better.
❌ “Works in 20–80% Humidity”
Sounds impressive, right? But here’s the truth:
ALL lash glues work in that range.
The catch? They behave very differently depending on the humidity. Higher humidity = faster cure. Lower humidity = slower cure.
So don’t be fooled by a glue claiming it’s “super adaptable” across wide humidity ranges. That’s just how cyanoacrylate works.
❌ “Hypoallergenic”
Let’s get this straight:
There is no regulation around the word “hypoallergenic.” It’s a marketing term, not a medical one.
Even if a glue is labeled hypoallergenic, it can still contain common irritants and cause reactions. Allergies are personal — one client might be fine, another might not.
❌ Not Listing Ingredients
🚩 Huge red flag.
If a brand doesn’t list what’s in their glue — why not? You have a right to know what you’re putting near your client’s eyes.
✨ At a bare minimum:
-
Black glue: should list at least 4 ingredients
-
Clear glue: at least 3 ingredients
No transparency = no trust.
❌ Not Saying Where It’s Made
You deserve to know where your lash glue is being manufactured.
Is it coming from a regulated lab with proper safety testing — or some random white-label factory with no oversight?
Knowing the country of origin helps you assess quality, safety standards, and ingredient regulations.
Bottom Line?
The best lash glue brands don’t need to rely on marketing fluff. They’re transparent, tested, and trustworthy — full stop.
