Which Lash Adhesive Is Right for Me?

There is no single “best” lash adhesive.

The right professional lash adhesive depends primarily on how quickly you work and your application technique, alongside your room temperature and humidity and the viscosity you prefer.

A glue that works perfectly for a fast lash artist may be completely wrong for someone still building their placement speed.

Here’s how to choose the right Ladybug Lashes adhesive for you.

1. Start With Your Application Speed

Your adhesive needs to cure after you have made your attachment - not before. If your glue is too fast for your placement speed, this can affect bonding and retention.

Meadow - Beginners & Slower Lash Artists

Cure time: 1–2 seconds
Viscosity: Thin-medium
Best for: Beginners, students and artists who prefer more placement time

Meadow is the slowest adhesive in our main range. The slightly longer cure time gives you more time to place the extension correctly before the adhesive cures.

Its thin-medium consistency can also feel easier to control if you don’t enjoy very watery adhesives.

Choose Meadow if: you are still building speed, prefer a little more control or regularly find that faster adhesives cure before you complete your attachment.

Spring - Intermediate Lash Artists

Cure time: Approximately 1 second
Viscosity: Thin to very thin
Best for: Intermediate artists and those moving onto faster adhesives

Spring sits between Meadow and our fastest adhesives.

Its approximately 1-second cure gives you more speed while still allowing slightly more placement time than Wildflower or Damselfly. Its thin to very thin consistency gives a lightweight, fluid feel during application.

Choose Spring if: Meadow is beginning to feel too slow but you’re not quite ready for an ultra-fast adhesive.

Wildflower - Fast Lash Artists

Cure time: 0.5–1 second
Viscosity: Very thin
Best for: Fast, experienced lash artists

Wildflower is designed for artists with quick isolation and placement who need their adhesive to keep up with them.

Its very thin viscosity allows a clean attachment without adding unnecessary bulk.

Choose Wildflower if: Spring is beginning to feel too slow and your placement is consistently quick and accurate.

Damselfly - Very Fast / Advanced Lash Artists

Cure time: Approximately 0.3 seconds
Viscosity: Very thin
Best for: Very fast, experienced lash artists

Damselfly is our fastest traditional lash adhesive.

At approximately 0.3 seconds, it requires quick, confident placement. If your extension isn’t attached within the adhesive’s working time, the adhesive may already have started curing before you make your connection.

Choose Damselfly if: you work extremely quickly and regularly find other fast adhesives too slow.

Why Can Lash Glue Speeds Differ Between Brands?

A “1-second” adhesive from one brand won’t necessarily behave exactly like a “1-second” adhesive from another.

Performance can vary because of differences in the cyanoacrylate, stabilisers, viscosity and overall formulation, as well as the temperature and humidity in your lash room.

This is why we recommend choosing an adhesive based on how it actually behaves with your working speed and environment, rather than choosing purely by the number printed on the bottle.

2. Match Your Adhesive to Your Lash Room

Temperature and humidity affect how quickly cyanoacrylate lash adhesive cures, but they shouldn't be used alone to choose your adhesive.

For our traditional cosmetic-grade adhesives, we recommend:

Working humidity range: 40–70%
Temperature: 20–24°C

Around 55% humidity sits in the middle of our recommended working range, but it isn't a target every lash artist needs to achieve.

Your application speed should remain one of the main factors when choosing your adhesive.

Two lash artists working in exactly the same temperature and humidity may prefer completely different adhesive speeds because they work at different speeds.

High Humidity or Higher Temperature

Higher humidity and temperature can make your adhesive behave faster.

However, high humidity does not automatically mean you need a slower adhesive.

A very fast lash artist may work perfectly well with Damselfly at 70% humidity, while another artist working in exactly the same environment may prefer Wildflower, Spring or Meadow.

If your current adhesive is performing well, you're achieving secure attachment and your retention is consistent, there is no reason to change it simply because your humidity is high.

If your adhesive is consistently beginning to cure before you've achieved a secure attachment, you may benefit from moving one step slower within the range.

Choose according to what the adhesive is actually doing, rather than the humidity reading alone.

Low Humidity or Lower Temperature

Lower humidity and temperature can make your adhesive behave more slowly.

Again, this doesn't automatically mean you need a faster adhesive.

If your current adhesive is performing well, continue using it.

If you're experiencing sliding extensions, increased stickies or the adhesive consistently feels too slow for your placement speed, you may benefit from moving to a faster adhesive such as Spring, Wildflower or Damselfly.

Our Retention Booster / Glue Aid can also be used sparingly where appropriate to help increase cure speed in lower humidity.

Your environment affects your adhesive. It doesn't choose your adhesive for you.

3. Prep Matters More Than You Think

Your preparation products can affect both adhesive behaviour and retention.

High-Alcohol Primers - Use With Caution

High-alcohol primers can heavily dehydrate the natural lash and may cause your adhesive to cure faster than expected.

This can be particularly noticeable in medium or high humidity and can result in poor attachment if the adhesive begins curing before you’ve completed your placement.

pH Balancer - For Balanced Prep

Our pH Balancer (approximately pH 7.5) is designed to prepare the natural lashes without relying on aggressive dehydration.

It can be used before any of our traditional lash adhesives and is particularly useful when you want clean, balanced preparation without deliberately accelerating your adhesive.

Retention Booster / Glue Aid - When You Need More Speed

In lower humidity, adhesive naturally cures more slowly.

Our Retention Booster / Glue Aid (approximately pH 8.5) can be used when you deliberately want to increase cure speed.

It helps create a more alkaline surface on the natural lash, giving the adhesive a faster grab without relying on a high-alcohol primer.

Use it because your environment or working conditions require it - not automatically with every set.

4. Choose the Viscosity You Prefer

Cure speed isn’t the only difference you’ll feel between adhesives.

Very thin: Damselfly and Wildflower
Thin to very thin: Spring
Thin-medium: Meadow

Very thin adhesives feel more fluid and create a lightweight attachment, while a slightly thicker adhesive may feel easier to control for some artists.

Neither is automatically better.

All of these viscosities can be used for Classic, Hybrid, Volume and Mega Volume techniques. Choose the consistency that works best with your pickup, dipping and placement style.

5. Not Sure Which Adhesive to Choose? Try a Sample

Choosing an adhesive from a chart can only take you so far.

Your working speed, technique, room conditions and personal preference all affect how an adhesive feels in your hands.
