Lash lifting relies on a chemical process that temporarily breaks down and resets the structure of the hair. Correct timing is crucial — under-processing won’t give desired results, while over-processing can lead to dryness, frizz, or damage.

Timings are guidelines only. You must assess the individual client’s hair type and condition before deciding how long to process.

✔️ Lash Type Considerations:

  • Fine or fragile lashes: Reduce time. Use minimal tension and monitor closely.

  • Thick or stubborn lashes: May need maximum timing. Ensure full solution saturation.

  • Previously lifted or tinted lashes: Already processed — reduce by 1–2 minutes.

  • Young or mature clients: Younger clients tend to have more resilient lashes; mature clients often have more fragile hair.

💡 Pro Tip: Always apply solutions with precision. Avoid skin contact and use even coverage across the lash base. Check lashes mid-process to assess flexibility.

🔎 How to Do a Lash Lift Check (During Step 1 – Lifting Lotion) see video LADYBUGLASHES · Products · How to do a lash lift check · Shopify

Purpose of the Check:

To assess whether the lifting lotion has sufficiently softened the lash structure so they can be shaped into the desired curl — without overprocessing.

📍 When to Check:

  • Start checking 2 minutes before the minimum recommended time for the lash type.

    • Example: If using a 6–8 min range, check at minute 4.

  • Check every 1–2 minutes after that until you're satisfied with the result.

🛠️ How to Check: Step-by-Step

  1. Sanitize your hands and use a clean lash tool (e.g., lash lifter, microbrush, or Y-comb).

  2. Gently lift 2–3 lashes from the shield/rod with the tool.

  3. Observe and test flexibility:

    • Lashes should gently bend or curl without resistance.

    • They should hold the lifted shape momentarily and not feel stiff or spring back.

    • If they still feel firm and resistant, more time is needed.

  4. Replace the lashes back onto the shield neatly if more time is needed — do not disturb alignment.

  5. Re-cover the area with lifting lotion and allow further processing in 1–2 minute increments.

⚠️ Be gentle! Avoid pulling or pressing hard — over-manipulating can cause lashes to lift unevenly or frizz.
