Firefly is a UK-manufactured, cosmetic-grade professional lash adhesive designed for highly experienced lash artists with exceptionally fast, accurate placement.

Its ultra-fast curing speed also makes it a useful option for fast technicians working in lower-humidity environments, where cyanoacrylate adhesives will generally cure more slowly.

At this speed, there is very little working time between dipping the extension and completing the attachment. If your placement is not quick enough, Firefly may begin curing before you have completed the bond, which can contribute to poor attachment and lash pop-offs.

Is Firefly the Right Lash Glue for You?

Choosing a lash adhesive should be based on your application speed and working environment, rather than simply choosing the fastest adhesive available.

Firefly is the fastest adhesive in the Ladybug Lashes range at approximately 0.1–0.3 seconds.

It is intended for highly experienced technicians whose isolation, dipping and placement are consistently fast enough to complete the attachment before the adhesive begins curing.

Firefly may also be particularly useful if you are already a fast lash artist but work in a lower-humidity treatment room, as lower humidity generally slows cyanoacrylate curing.

However, environment should never be considered separately from placement speed. Firefly is still an extremely fast adhesive and should only be chosen if its curing speed suits the way you actually work.

If you are experiencing lash pop-offs during application, your adhesive may be curing before you have completed the attachment.

In this situation, moving to Firefly is unlikely to solve the problem - you may actually need a slower adhesive.

If you need more placement time, consider:

• Damselfly: approx. 0.3 seconds

• Wildflower: 0.5–1 second

• Spring: approx. 1 second

• Meadow: 1–2 seconds

Cosmetic-Grade Lash Adhesive, Made in the UK

Firefly is manufactured and quality controlled in the UK specifically for professional lash-extension use, using cosmetic-grade ingredients and controlled manufacturing processes.

Each batch is tested for consistency and performance, helping to ensure the adhesive meets the expected specification before release.

Firefly uses BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole) as its stabiliser.

We believe lash artists should know what they are working with, which is why we clearly disclose our adhesive ingredients and the stabilising system used within the formulation.

Firefly Working Conditions

Your room conditions affect how quickly cyanoacrylate adhesive cures.

Firefly's recommended working environment is:

Temperature: 20–24°C (68–75°F)
Humidity: 40–70% RH
Sweet spot: Approximately 55% RH

Our traditional adhesives share the same recommended working range and are differentiated primarily by curing speed and viscosity, rather than being separate formulas for different humidity levels.

Higher humidity will generally make your adhesive cure faster, while lower humidity will generally slow it down.

Because Firefly is already an extremely fast adhesive, it can be particularly useful for fast artists working in lower-humidity environments where another adhesive may feel slower than expected.

Equally, in warmer or more humid conditions Firefly may cure exceptionally quickly, so placement speed becomes even more important.

Small changes in temperature, humidity and technique can make a noticeable difference to how Firefly behaves.

How to Use Firefly Lash Adhesive

Shake Firefly by hand for a full two minutes before your first use of the day to thoroughly mix the formulation.

Between adhesive drops, shake for approximately 30 seconds.

When dispensing your adhesive:

• Remove the cap before shaking

• Shake the bottle from side to side rather than vigorously up and down

• Turn the bottle upside down and allow gravity to dispense the drop rather than squeezing the bottle

• Use small, fresh drops throughout the treatment

• Wipe the nozzle after dispensing with a lint-free wipe

• Replace the cap securely between uses

Correct adhesive handling helps maintain consistency and reduces product build-up around the nozzle.

How to Store Firefly

Store Firefly in a cool, dark place inside its airtight storage container with the silica pack provided.

Keep the bottle upright with the cap securely closed, and avoid unnecessary exposure to heat, humidity and direct sunlight.

Unopened shelf life: Up to 12 months
Opened shelf life: 90+ days when correctly stored and handled

Always refer to the expiry information supplied with your individual product.

Getting the Best Retention From Firefly

Retention is not determined by your adhesive alone.

Preparation, attachment, application speed, natural lash condition, room environment, client aftercare and the natural lash cycle can all affect how long extensions remain attached.

Firefly can provide up to approximately 6–7 weeks' retention under suitable conditions, but this is not a guarantee for every client.

Our pH Balancer, Low Humidity Retention Booster and Super Bonder can also be incorporated into your treatment where appropriate.

Additional products should be selected according to the client's lashes, your working environment and the individual product instructions rather than automatically being used with every set.

First Time Using Ladybug Lashes Adhesive?

If you are switching from another brand, do not assume a 0.1–0.3 second adhesive will feel identical to another adhesive with the same stated speed.

Differences in formulation, viscosity, stabilising systems, room conditions and application technique can all affect how an adhesive performs in practice.

Where available, we recommend trying one of our 1g Lash Glue Samples before committing to a full-size bottle if you have never used our adhesives before.

When will Firefly be available?

Is Firefly suitable for beginners?

No.

Firefly is our fastest adhesive and is designed for highly experienced lash artists with exceptionally quick placement.

If you are newly qualified or still developing your speed, Meadow (1–2 seconds) will usually give you considerably more working time.

How fast is Firefly?

Firefly has an approximate drying time of 0.1–0.3 seconds, making it the fastest adhesive in the Ladybug Lashes range.

Its actual working speed will still be influenced by your temperature, humidity, placement speed and technique.

Is Firefly suitable for lower humidity?

It can be a particularly useful option for fast lash artists working in lower-humidity environments.

Lower humidity generally slows cyanoacrylate curing, so Firefly's ultra-fast formulation can provide a faster-working option where another adhesive may feel slower.

However, your placement speed still matters. Firefly should only be selected if its curing speed suits your technique as well as your room conditions.

What's the difference between Firefly and Damselfly?

The biggest difference is speed.

Firefly is approximately 0.1–0.3 seconds, while Damselfly is approximately 0.3 seconds.

Both are very thin professional adhesives intended for advanced artists, but Firefly offers even less placement time and is designed for technicians working at an exceptionally fast pace.

Firefly may also be particularly useful for very fast artists working in lower-humidity environments.

If you are unsure between the two, choose according to your actual placement speed and working conditions, rather than automatically choosing Firefly because it is faster.

Can Firefly be used for Classic and Volume lashes?

Yes. Firefly can be used for professional Classic and Volume lash-extension techniques.

The important factor is whether its extremely fast curing speed matches your placement speed and working conditions.

Why am I getting pop-offs with Firefly?

Pop-offs during application can be a sign that the adhesive is curing before you have completed the attachment.

Because Firefly is extremely fast, even an experienced lash artist may find it too quick depending on their placement speed, temperature and humidity.

Check your working conditions and consider whether Damselfly, Wildflower or Spring would give you more appropriate working time.

Is Firefly the best adhesive because it is the fastest?

No.

The fastest adhesive is only the right adhesive if its curing speed matches your actual placement speed.

Using an adhesive that is too fast can compromise the attachment just as using one that is too slow can contribute to stickies.

The aim is to choose the adhesive that cures at the correct point in your own application process.

Does Firefly have low fumes?

Firefly is classed within our range as having minimal fumes.

However, minimal fumes does not mean allergy-free, hypoallergenic or suitable for someone with a known cyanoacrylate allergy.

Do I need to patch test Firefly?

Yes. Ladybug Lashes requires a patch test before using Firefly on a client.

Patch testing should be carried out 24–48 hours before treatment using the adhesive that will be used for the full application.

For lash-extension adhesive, our recommended method is to apply 5–10 lash extensions per eye, rather than applying adhesive directly to the skin.

A negative patch test cannot guarantee that a reaction will not occur during or after a full treatment, but the required patch test should still be completed.

Always follow any additional requirements set by your insurer.

Can I use Firefly on myself?

No. Firefly is a professional-use lash-extension adhesive and is not suitable for self-application, DIY lashes or strip lashes.

Can I get the SDS?

Yes. The relevant SDS will be available on request for the adhesive supplied with your order.
